The Jew in the Phish

finding a way back to that South Florida swamp, back to that mystical mountain

The Jew in the Phish explores the potential and probable convergence of the culture of Phish and the spirit of Judaism. Simply put, this is the unfolding story of a bunch of friends traveling to Miami for an ecstatic New Year’s celebration with those four wise wizards of improvisation. On another level, it is a story about stories—stories about the soul of music, stories about community, stories about ritual and history and enlightenment and infinity. It is a story about staring up at the mountain and climbing so slowly.

The Jew in the Phish blog is updated semi-weekly. All posts will be long and involved.

  1. hey Josh,

simply LOVEd your piece in the Huff Post. I don’t have the time at the moment to look at all of your prose, but I’m sure it’s great.

I’m definitely sharing in your groove and have used my shared philosophy about the connections as an inspiration of sorts for my very very amateur blog but what I use as an outlet for the various thoughts I have about the topic.
